Backstory

It was one of the last days of July 2006. Suddenly, an unexpected thunderstorm came up and everyone pretty much thought if it as a normal, everyday storm. Well, that was until lightning struck dangerously close to my house... And the result: every TV in the house was temporarily damaged. All the TVs in the house looked as if a little kid took a magnet and swirled it around onscreen except for the TV in the den. It was reduced to three weird bars of color. After about 10 minutes or so, the TVs returned to normal. Well, all but mine. The color has been reversed and the picture quality dropped. I figured it would return to normal, but it never did. I had it on a surge protector and everything, but that didn't help even the least bit. I've even tried degaussing it with some strong magnets, but to no avail. So now, I'm stuck with a TV that just doesn't feel right and no money to get a new one.

Thus, I'm undertaking a little project: let the Internet help me get a new TV! Currently, I'm just barely self-employed. I do webdesign for a few small to medium clients, but it doesn't bring in that much. As for other employment, well, I've been in intervew heck for about a year now since I was let go from my former job (it took about a year and a half in interview heck to get the job that I considered the job of my dreams only to be fired shortly before my probation ended as many of my fellow co-workers were). I have no money of my own to get a new TV nor will anyone just give me the money for a new TV. So, how will I get the money? Well well... I do have some webdesign projects in the workings that I'm trying to arrange... And I'm doing paid surveys to get a little change here and there (every little bit'll help) and I wouldn't mind donations either.

I know this isn't the cheapest TV I could get or even the most practical, but it's something that I really want. I'd love support if I can get it, but if not, I'll keep updating this site with how I'm doing all the time!
